Preprofessional Studies (Premedical)
Premedical students gain the strong foundation on which to build their studies at a medical school, leading to successful careers in the burgeoning health industry.
Medical schools accept students with a variety of different majors. Premedical students at GVSU may choose any major while completing the prerequisite coursework they need to score well on the Medical College Admission Test. In Fall 2016, 62% of Grand Valley students with a 3.4 GPA or higher were accepted to medical school on their first application. Grand Valley students are exceptionally competitive with those from other undergraduate institutions. The advising team looks forward to helping you achieve your dream of medical school.

“After completing my first year of med school, there have been numerous times I have felt the curriculum at Grand Valley, especially the upper level electives, prepared me well. In retrospect, if I had to choose an institution for my undergraduate education I would be confident that Grand Valley would be my choice and meet my needs!”
